Atrium Health promotes an environment where differences are valued and integrated into our patient care, community outreach and our workforce.

Community Benefit

Each year, Atrium Health invests in community benefit initiatives that enhance the quality of medical care and quality of life in our communities. This includes the total cost of providing financial assistance to uninsured and underinsured patients; subsidizing Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements; and financing other services that address important needs. Also included are community benefit such as research, education, community health improvements, community building initiatives, behavioral health services and community health clinics. Supplier Diversity

The diversity procurement team at Atrium Health seeks out opportunities to partner with local minority- and women-owned businesses for goods and services needed by the organization. This provides greater economic health and opportunity for small and growing businesses. For its efforts, Atrium Health was awarded the 2013 Premier Member Diversity Award for supplier diversity efforts.

One Charlotte

During times of tragedy and social conflict, Atrium Health supports the communities we serve. In Autumn 2016, Atrium Health partnered with Bank of America and Novant Health to create One Charlotte. The group is an initiative committed to starting conversations about critical needs in the community. Bringing together people from across Charlotte, it facilitates conversations about investing in neighborhoods in need, improving the criminal justice system, and removing barriers to education, employment and healthcare. Atrium Health will continue to work with One Charlotte and other non-profit organizations to improve our communities.
