American College of Surgeons (ACS)

ACS is a scientific and educational association of surgeons that was founded in 1913 to improve the quality of care for the surgical patient by setting high standards for surgical education and practice. In 2008, the ACS accredited Carolinas Simulation Center as an Accredited Education Institute. This accreditation focuses on the simulation-based education and training of surgeons, surgical residents, medical students and members of the surgical team. Carolinas Simulation Center has twice received reaccreditation, most recently in 2014.

INACSL Standards of Best Practice: SimulationSM

The International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL) has developed the INACSL Standards of Best Practice: SimulationSM. The INACSL Standards of Best Practice: Simulation were designed to advance the science of simulation, share best practices and provide evidence-based guidelines for implementation and training.

NLN SIRC

The purpose of the Simulation Innovation and Resource Center (SIRC) project, a collaborative alliance between the National League for Nursing and Laerdal Medical, is to develop a community of nurse educators who can effectively use simulation to promote and evaluate student learning and who dialogue with one another in an effort to advance simulation in nursing education.

Center for Medical Simulation (CMS)

Founded in 1993, CMS was one of the world's first healthcare simulation centers and continues to be a global leader in the field. CMS has more than 25 professional faculty members and offers a range of courses for clinicians, healthcare educators, administrators and managers.

CMS.jpgThe Debriefing Assessment for Simulation in Healthcare (DASH©) is designed to assist in evaluating and developing debriefing skills. At Carolinas Simulation Center, we use the DASH to assess quality of debriefing.
