This 100-hour course (one year) will use proven integrative medicine therapies to enhance the integration of chaplaincy skills for Board-Certified Chaplains and experienced chaplains who work in healthcare.
In Session One, attendees will learn the nuances and intricacies of:

Session One also covers how to use these therapies in direct ministry with patients and make referrals to other qualified specialists. Session Two covers more integrative healing therapies, and includes presentations to a peer group.
Up to 20 students can be accommodated in the Integrative Chaplain Certificate Course. Admission will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Application deadline is August 15, 2017.
Board-Certified Chaplains are to complete all modules and demonstrate skills in five of the modalities listed below.

$900 – The course fee includes four days of sessions, mentoring, online course work, breakfast and lunch during workshops. Travel, overnight stays and other expenses are the responsibilities of the attendees. |

Chaplain David E. Carl is Executive Director of Spiritual Care and Education at Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC. He is an ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church who has served in chaplaincy for 40 years.
David is certified as a Supervisor in the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education and is a Board-Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains. He has served in leadership positions for both of these national organizations and received the prestigious Anton T. Boisen Award from the Association of Mental Health Clergy in 1998 for his creative leadership in the field of religion and mental health.
David remains active on the Atrium Health Institutional Review Board, Ethics Committee, Diversity and Inclusion Council, and Patient Experience.
