Lorri Connor joined Cabarrus College of Health Sciences in 2015. Lorri's career has followed her passion for college access and readiness - educating students and their families about the possibilities of college, and encouraging them to learn the process from admission to graduation. Lorri has 15 years of higher education experience focusing on admissions, financial aid, retention, and specialty/professional development training for faculty and staff. Lorri has BS in Criminal Justice from Western Carolina University and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Project Management with a concentration in Organizational Communication from Northeastern University.

In her spare time Lorri enjoys spending time with family, cooking, supporting her children at their extra-curricular sporting events, and watching NFL football (Go San Francisco 49ers!). She loves traveling back to Western North Carolina at least once a year to enjoy the peace, serenity, and simplicity of mountain life.

Melanie Gass came to Cabarrus College in 2005 and has served in a variety of roles during her time here, including Student Activities, Alumni Affairs, marketing, and currently Admissions and Recruitment. Prior to coming to Cabarrus College Melanie started her career in higher education by working in Residence Life at Belmont Abbey College and Alumni Affairs at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The favorite part of her job is working with prospective students and helping them achieve their goals.

When not working, Melanie’s favorite things are spending time with her family, reading, cooking and listening to true crime podcasts.

La’Jay Adams joined Cabarrus College of Health Sciences in 2021. La’Jay has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies with a concentration in Public Relations from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Upon graduating La’Jay started her career in higher education by working at Carolinas College of Health Sciences in the Academic Affairs and Student Affairs department before joining Cabarrus College of Health Sciences. La’Jay enjoys educating students on the different programs available at Cabarrus College and seeing students grow from a prospective student to a healthcare professional. It is satisfying to watch students reach their professional goals and find their passion in healthcare.

When away from work La’Jay enjoys hiking with her dog, listening to music, and spending time with her family and friends.
