Whether studying, researching, or simply looking for a quiet place to read, the College Library provides an excellent atmosphere to support your academic experience.

Location
The Library is located on the lower level of the main hospital campus building of Atrium Health Cabarrus. When entering the building through the employee entrance, under the blue awning, take the stairwell to the right of the main hallway to the lower level. There is directional signage along the lower corridor indicating the way to the Library.

If entering the Marian Cannon Hayes Center, take the elevator to the basement level and follow the signage.

Ms. Dixon received Bachelor Degrees in Nursing and Anthropology from The University of Tennessee at Knoxville and the degree of Master of Library and Information Studies from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She became a Cabarrus College of Health Sciences Librarian in August of 2014. Her background includes teaching evidence-based nursing classes, developing library liaison and outreach programs, maintaining electronic resources and serials and developing the health sciences collection. She is currently licensed as a Registered Nurse with experience in perioperative nursing, trauma surgery nursing, community health and occupational health nursing. Her teaching background includes teaching anatomy and physiology and critical thinking skills. Cassie enjoys gardening and reading.

Ms. Burns holds a Masters of Library Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design from the University of Wisconsin at Stout.  Her background includes public, university, and community college library experience in Reference, Instruction, and Assistant Director positions. She has served as library liaison to allied health programs including Nursing, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapy Assistant, and Dental Hygienist.  Her teaching background includes serving as online adjunct faculty in the Information and Library Science program at University of Maine at Augusta as well as research and information literacy instruction to allied health students at Central Piedmont Community College. Amy enjoys fitness activities, travel with her husband and friends, and creating custom jewelry.

Library Services and Resources during the COVID-19 Response

Cabarrus College Health Sciences Library can be accessed 24 hour hours a day with the badge reader for patient chart review.  Hospital guidelines apply to the library space including PPE guidance and physical distancing.  Staff will provide consulting, resources, and services online until further notice following guidance from the College and from county and state authorities.  Librarians can be contacted seven days a week.

Hours of Operation
The Library can be accessed 24/7 with your badge.  The Librarians general hours are Monday - Thursdays 8:00am-4:00 pm, Fridays 8:00am-1:00pm and evenings/weekends by appointment.
