The pre-radiologic technology track is a 13 credit hour block of classes. Students enrolled in the pre-radiologic technology track have the opportunity to earn guaranteed admission into the Carolinas College Radiologic Technology program.

While Pre-Radiologic Technology students are completing the required coursework, they must also complete the following shadowing requirements:

  • Complete 4 hours of shadowing in the Radiology department at CMC (only in diagnostics, fluoroscopy, and ED allowed)
  • Schedule the shadowing experience through the Program Chair of the Radiologic Technology program at CCHS
  • The shadowing experience, clinical observation form, and personal reflection paper must be submitted by the end of April of the Pre-Radiologic enrollment period.

To be eligible for guaranteed admission, students must complete the coursework at Carolinas College within three consecutive terms of starting the program and earn a minimum 3.23 GPA for these courses. Only the grades earned on the first completed attempt at these courses will be considered in calculating the GPA eligibility for guaranteed admission.

Students who earn guaranteed admission will be conditionally admitted to the Radiologic Technology program as space becomes available. The coursework includes:

  • Anatomy and Physiology I (BIO 101)
  • Anatomy and Physiology II (BIO 102)
  • Medical Terminology (HLC 102)
  • College Math (MAT 101)

Students who do not earn guaranteed admission may change to the general studies track to complete the associate degree.
