The Nursing program is our largest program with approximately 270 students enrolled. Nursing is one of the most exciting and important professions in healthcare. Please be aware that only complete applications with transcripts and test scores (if applicable) will be processed. The instructions below will help you submit a complete application. We suggest that you submit your online application, fee and all transcripts at the same time. There are six easy steps to apply:

Step 1 - Application

Submit your completed application and the non-refundable $60 application fee.

Step 2 - High School Transcripts

A minimum 2.5 weighted High School GPA is required. Submit an official, unopened high school transcript.

Step 3 - College Transcripts (if applicable)

A minimum 2.5 cumulative college GPA is required. Submit official, unopened college transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended.

Step 4 - SAT or ACT Test Scores  

A minimum 900 on the SAT or 19 on the ACT is required. Scores which are part of an official transcript are acceptable. Score reports may be ailed directly to Carolinas College of Health Sciences or submitted as part of the admission packet. The College utilizes only the Critical Reading and Math portions when calculating the SAT score.

Step - 5 - TEAS Test Scores

Individual test score at or higher than the 50th percentile rank of the national mean is required. Scores must be from a TEAS test administered in August 2016 or later.

Step - 6 Deadline

Submit a complete application by the deadline. All required documents must be received by the deadline.

International Applicants (or those with foreign transcripts)

Applicants must be citizens of the United States or hold permanent resident status. Carolinas College of Health Sciences does not authorize student visas. Applicants with foreign transcripts are required to present an official transcript evaluation from one of the agencies listed below that includes all of the courses attempted, credit and grades earned.

Applicants who attended high school or college outside of the United States must submit a TOEFL score as part of the application packet by the application deadline. A score of 220 (computer version) or 83 (iBT: Internet Based) is required. Contact TOEFL (School code: 5130).

Pre-Enrollment Requirements

Once admitted to the associate's degree nursing program, the following pre-enrollment requirements must be completed prior to Orientation:

1.  Complete a Nurse Aide course, pass the competency examination, and be listed on the NC Nurse Aide I Registry.
2.  Complete American Heart Association (BLS) CPR certification, which must be valid through at least first year of enrollment.  Please note Atrium Health does NOT accept American Red Cross CPR certifications.
3.  Mental Health First Aid - must complete the one day course.
4.  Teammate Health Assessment - includes physical assessment, immunization review, and drug screen
5.  Criminal Background Check
6.  Complete Smarter Measure Learning Readiness Indicator

Please note these are the major pre-enrollment requirements.  There are others that will be included on the New Student Onboarding Page for all new students once they have paid their deposit.
