Dr. Dael Waxman

Dr. WaxmanAs part of the faculty of Family Medicine at Carolinas Medical Center, Dr. Waxman serves as Vice Chair, Coordinator of Faculty Development, and Medical Director of Behavioral Medicine. After residency training at the University of Arizona, Dr. Waxman completed a fellowship in Faculty Development and served on the faculty of the University of Texas Medical Branch, where he was elected to the Junior Faculty Association. At the University of Connecticut, he received the Henry Feder award for outstanding teaching. He has taught regionally, nationally and internationally on family influences on health, physician-patient communication, health impact of language choice, mind/body medicine, and physician burnout. In his role as a Fellow, he will support faculty development with preparing and delivering didactic presentations, small group learning, teaching physician-patient communication, delivering feedback, preceptor development and physician wellness/prevention of burnout.
