Purpose
The purpose of the Carolinas Medical Center PGY2 Infectious Diseases residency is to train residents through diverse rotational experiences, clinical research, and teaching and precepting opportunities to become independent clinicians and leaders in infectious diseases pharmacotherapy.
Program Structure
The PGY2 Infectious Diseases residency is a twelve-month program in which the majority of required clinical learning experiences are one month in duration. The program allows for flexibility so that elective rotations can be tailored based on the resident’s clinical interests and career goals. This program will accept its first resident beginning in 2017 and is currently in pre-candidate status for ASHP accreditation.
