New Applications

Applications to the Cabarrus Family Medicine Residency Program will be accepted only from participants in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

  • NRMP listing – “Carolinas HealthCare Sys NorthEast-NC Family Med/Cabarrus”
  • ERAS listing – “Carolinas HealthCare System NorthEast (Northeast-Cabarrus) Program”

A completed application should include a personal statement, curriculum vitae, MSPE, USMLE or Comlex Transcript, and three letters of recommendation. Invitations for personal interviews will be based upon the completed application materials.

The following screening guidelines will be used for initial evaluation of applicants:

  • Applicants should have completed medical school within the last five years.
  • Applicants should have passed Steps I and II of the USMLE, with no failures, and a minimum score of 190 on each.
  • International graduates should have at least one year of clinical experience in the United States. Please note we do not have the resources to sponsor Visa’s.

Each applicant will be interviewed by members of our Recruitment Committee. We require one interview; however, applicants are welcome to visit informally if they wish. Please contact the Residency Administrative Staff if you would like to make such a visit or if you have any questions.
