An expert in pediatric echocardiography, Dr. Herlong oversees pediatric cardiology for Levine Children’s Hospital and Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute. Throughout his career, he has contributed more than 40 publications to the pediatric cardiology literature. His current research involves his work as director of the Core Lab for MRI and CT studies in connection with the Coarctation of the Aorta Stent Trial (COAST). In addition, he is an adjunct associate professor of pediatrics at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. Previously, he served as director of pediatric echocardiography at Duke University Medical Center and as an assistant professor of pediatrics at Duke University School of Medicine.
