    • Diabetes Center: The Diabetes Center at Carolinas HealthCare System Cleveland includes nurses and registered dietitians who will help guide you through the process of minimizing the impact of diabetes and help you can get back to better health. For more information, please call 980-486-3953.
  • Orthopedics
    • Additionally, the Joint Academy is a specially designated unit at Atrium Health Cleveland for joint replacement surgery patients, including hip, knee and total shoulder replacement. The Joint Academy is designed to shorten recovery time and help patients return to normal activities as quickly as possible.
    • Patients are referred to the Joint Academy program by their orthopedic surgeon. The surgeon bases his recommendation on how much the patient will benefit from the program and how well he thinks the patient can handle the fast pace and comprehensive treatment.
    • From extensive pre-operative education and exercise to post-discharge care, we coordinate your care, working toward your quickest and safest return to normal activities.
    • Patients of The Joint Academy have surgery on Monday and are out of bed day of surgery to begin therapy.
    • The Joint Academy staff – including registered nurses and certified physical therapists – work with each patient to ensure they have a successful stay and are ready for graduation and discharge.
