Visitors are an important part of the care of our patients. To allow our patients to rest and be safe, all visitors must follow these guidelines:
- Please wash your hands before visiting.
- No more than two visitors at one time.
- In general care areas, visitors must be at least 12 years old.
- In the intensive care units, children younger than 16 must be screened by a nurse.
- Please be quiet. No loud noises.
- Do not visit if you have a cold, sore throat, pink eye, flu, vomiting, diarrhea, unexplained skin rash, open draining sores or any contagious disease.
- Look for no visiting and precaution signs before entering the room.
- If asked, please step out of the room while we are taking care of the patient.
- If you are visiting a new mom, please be aware that we are promoting a scheduled “nap time” from 2 to 4 p.m. Please try to avoid visiting new moms during these hours.
- If a family member will be staying with you, please ask your nurse about securing a visitor’s badge. All visitors who stay beyond regular visiting hours must wear a visitor’s badge.
- Only one family member may stay overnight in the patient’s room. In the ICU waiting rooms, only one visitor may stay. In other waiting rooms, no visitors may stay overnight.
