Hospital stays can be a difficult time for children and their families, with a lot of medical words and conversations that are important to understand clearly. As a result, parents may feel more comfortable talking with members of the health care team in their native language, or in sign language for those who are hearing-impaired. Interpreter services are available 24/7 for hearing-impaired and limited English-speaking patients and their families at no cost.

We offer in-person interpreting in Spanish, meaning a real person can be at your patient's bedside. We also offer video calls with a live interpreter in 30 languages, and by-phone interpreting services in 250 different languages, all options sharing exactly what the medical team is saying.

All of our interpreters go through a 40 hour certification course to gain the skill and understanding to properly interpret medical information to ensure that no information is lost in translation.

Our team understands the importance of needing to receive the proper information while at the hospital. We will ask if you need to take advantage of our interpreting services then make sure the proper interpreting format is put in place for you while at Levien Children's Hospital.
