Dr. Culpepper is board certified in family medicine. She specializes in women's health, birth control, abnormal pap smears, simple skin procedures, skin biopsies, mole removals, cyst excisions, joint injections and chronic disease management.
She won the Atrium Health Department of Family Medicine Faculty Teaching Award each year from 2012 through 2016.
Dr. Culpepper co-founded a diabetes clinic and is a co-author on a research project titled, "Impact of a Multidisciplinary Specialty Clinic on Clinical and Behavioral Outcomes for Diabetes Patients."
She chose family medicine because it allows her to treat the whole family, provide individualized care, listen and learn from her patients and provide emotional support when needed. She enjoys building trust and respect and educating her patients about their health and chronic diseases.
Dr. Culpepper told everyone she wanted to be a doctor when she was 5 years old and has never wavered. Her mother has been diagnosed with breast cancer 5 times, and each time she and her mother found lumps during self-exams. She feels God made her a doctor to advocate for her mother and those who need help caring for themselves.
She received her medical degree and a master’s degree in public health at Boston University. She completed her residency at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center.
Dr. Culpepper loves trying new foods and wines and exploring new restaurants with friends. She also loves a good romantic comedy and has a passion for traveling.
