Biography
“I believe health is often shaped by the communities we live in, and I want to help my community to be healthier.”
Dr. Barnes is board certified in family medicine. She specializes in primary, preventive, hypertension and diabetes care for patients of all ages. Dr. Barnes is the site-based medical director at Atrium Health Primary Care Cabarrus Family Medicine.
She is recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for patient-centered care for diabetes. Dr. Barnes has been named a Top Doctor by Charlotte magazine.
She is motivated to provide patients with the access, knowledge and abilities that enable them to achieve better health for themselves and their families.
Dr. Barnes received her medical degree at Indiana University and completed a residency at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center.
She is married with 2 children. In her free time, she enjoys reading, music, her patio garden, cheering on her Duke Blue Devils and spending time with her family.
