Dr. Lurie is board certified in pediatrics. He specializes in pediatric care from birth to age 18, LGBTQIA+ health and care for infants born to mothers who test positive for COVID-19.
At Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital, he is the director of the General Academic Pediatric Division, the assistant director of the Pediatric Residency Program and the chair of the Pediatric Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. Additionally, he is the medical director at CMC Myers Park Pediatrics.
Dr. Lurie has been engaged in research into the care of LGBTQIA+ youth and the use of telemedicine in underserved populations. He was the recipient of a Keuser Award Grant for research regarding virtual care for infants of COVID-19 positive mothers.
He received his master’s degree in public health at Columbia University and his medical degree at Tel Aviv Sackler School of Medicine New York State/American Program. He completed a residency at North Shore University Hospital.
Outside of work, he loves spending time with his significant other and their 3 dogs. He enjoys the outdoors, hiking, traveling and exploring. His guilty pleasure is watching reality TV.
