Biography

Dr. Iannitti is board certified in general surgery and specializes in treating advanced pancreatic cancer. He serves as the chief of the HPB Surgery Division, professor for the Department of Surgery, program director of HPB Surgery and director of surgical operations at Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute.
He oversees the HPB Fellowship Program, including the research and clinical components. He also serves as program director for multiple physician training courses in microwave and radiofrequency ablation as well as a regional/national annual liver course.
He developed a well-funded center and secured multiple grants for research into liver disease. He is actively involved in ongoing projects that address the fundamental pathophysiology of hepatocellular carcinoma development and progression. He has authored more than 80 journal articles and book chapters and presented more than 150 meeting lectures.
Dr. Iannitti has been recognized as a Charlotte Magazine Top Doctor and nominated for the Atrium Health Pinnacle Award.
He received his medical degree at Dartmouth-Brown University and completed his residency at Brown University. He then completed his fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic.
Outside of work, he enjoys cooking, traveling and outdoor activities such as hiking and downhill skiing. Dr. Iannitti is also a Master Scuba Diver.
