Biography

“There is no better career than to serve others and help patients and families during what may be one of the hardest times of their lives.”

Dr. Benham is board certified in general surgery. She is skilled in performing minimally invasive surgeries and treating heartburn, hernias and obesity.

She enjoys using minimally invasive techniques to help patients with complex surgical problems. Her goal is for patients to have less postoperative pain and a quicker return to their daily lives and loved ones.

Dr. Benham received her medical degree at the University of Oklahoma, completed residency at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center and a fellowship at The Ohio State University. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

She was nominated by medical students and residents during her fellowship for the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Additionally, she received a Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) Fellowship Certification.

Dr. Benham enjoys the outdoors, running, hiking and cycling. She loves to cook, bake, travel and meet new people.
