"I believe it is important to increase access to mental healthcare and help children and their families identify, process, and express their emotions, particularly when they are navigating complex medical diagnoses and treatments.”

Dr. Regan is a licensed clinical psychologist. She specializes in treating children with cancer and blood disorders. She feels that providing pediatric psychology within medical teams improves patient access to mental health care.

She is a pediatric psychologist at Levine Children’s Cancer & Blood Disorders, a facility of Carolinas Medical Center. Dr. Regan is also the director of the Pediatric Psychology fellowship program and holds an academic appointment as an assistant professor of pediatrics.

Dr. Regan received her PhD from Virginia Commonwealth University, completed her residency at Children’s National Medical Center and concluded training through her fellowship at Levine Children’s Hospital.

Her research interests include distress and impairment, quality of life, procedural anxiety, survivorship outcomes, implementation of psychosocial standards of care and program evaluation. She received a grant for bereavement research from the Mattie Miracle Cancer Foundation.

She enjoys spending time outside of work with her husband and young son, their families and friends. She also likes to be outside, travel, exercise and explore Charlotte.
