“My goal is to improve the lives of my patients by advancing prostate cancer care through research and personalized treatments for each and every man I see.”

Dr. Kearns is board certified in urology and specializes in prostate cancer. He is skilled in urologic surgery, oncology, and robotic-assisted radical and simple prostatectomies.

He is a physician-scientist and faculty member in the Atrium Health Department of Urology and the Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CORE) at Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute.

Dr. Kearns is particularly interested in using research to identify and address healthcare disparities. He was drawn to helping patients with prostate cancer because of the wide variety of treatment options available and the need to provide an individualized care plan for every man.

He received his medical degree at Columbia University and completed his residency at The University of Chicago. He followed that with a fellowship at the University of Washington.

He is married with 2 sons. They enjoy riding bikes and exploring local neighborhoods and restaurants. He also enjoys reading fiction, playing golf, cooking and perfecting his sourdough bread recipe.
