Biography
“As a pediatrician, I hope that I’m able to make a difference in the lives of the children that I care for, their parents and my community.”
Dr. Plonk is board certified in pediatrics. He is the site-based medical director for Atrium Health Levine Children’s Providence Pediatrics.
He was previously the chief of Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center Department of Pediatrics and has been named a Top Doctor multiple times by Charlotte magazine. Dr. Plonk is an active participant in the Atrium Health COVID-19 Community Research Partnership.
Dr. Plonk received his medical degree at the University of North Carolina and completed a residency at Vanderbilt University.
When not working, Dr. Plonk enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. His hobbies include gardening, hiking, swimming and biking.
