Biography
“I chose to become a doctor after years of volunteer work and working in free clinics as a small-town girl from NC. I love developing lasting relationships with my patients and their families and promoting lifelong health for them. I chose family medicine, and specifically osteopathic medicine, for the opportunity to empower patients with the knowledge to take their health into their own hands. I appreciate having the additional tool of osteopathic manipulations to develop patients’ ability to self-heal without necessarily using medications.”
Dr. Featherstone specializes in family medicine with a clinical interest in women’s health, pediatrics and osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT).
The South Carolina Osteopathic Medical Society honored her with the SC Osteopathic Resident of the Year Award. She also received the Resident Teacher of the Year Award from the Society of Teaching of Family Medicine.
Dr. Featherstone received her bachelor’s degree at Pfeiffer University and her degree in osteopathic medicine at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her family medicine residency at Spartanburg Medical Center.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with friends and family. She loves the outdoors, gardening, hiking, biking and exploring new cities. She expresses herself creatively through painting, cooking, baking, knitting and photography.
