Biography

“My passion for medicine stems from my desire to help others by providing honest, high-quality, personalized care. I am committed to partnering with my patients to achieve their health goals and hope to provide a comfortable environment at my office so they can feel at ease. I strive to be open and honest with my patients and will continue to stay up-to-date with the most recent evidence-based medical practices so patients can make the most informed decisions regarding their health.”

Dr. Bushey is board certified in internal medicine. He has advanced training in basic life support and advanced cardiovascular life support.

He specializes in primary and preventive care, sick and well visits, annual physicals, preoperative evaluations, and the treatment of acute and chronic illnesses.

Additionally, Dr. Bushey has clinical interests in valvular heart disease, heart failure, post-myocardial infarctions, post-stroke care, preventive care, and managing hypertension, diabetes and COVID-19 symptoms.

Dr. Bushey feels his unique life experiences and rigorous medical training have prepared him to address the health needs of his patients and the community in a compassionate, culturally respectful way. He grew up in a U.S. Air Force family and has traveled extensively.

While completing his internal medicine residency in Las Vegas, Dr. Bushey served a diverse patient population from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. He also managed complex COVID-19 patients from outpatient to ICU critical care settings.

Dr. Bushey received his medical degree at Georgetown University. During medical school, he served as a volunteer clinician at a free clinic in southeast Washington, DC. He also completed an international medical rotation in Tondo Manila, Philippines, where he was immersed in their health system and culture and had the opportunity to diagnose and treat medical conditions both common and rarely seen in the United States.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their dog, hiking around North Carolina. He enjoys running, playing hockey and guitar, automotive repair and volunteering.
