“I chose family medicine because it affords me the opportunity to care for entire families throughout their life cycles, partnering with them to achieve sustainable health for generations to come.”

Dr. Oni is board certified in family medicine. She performs vaginal deliveries for patients and specializes in pediatrics and women’s health, including prenatal and perinatal care in the weeks immediately before and after delivery.

She is passionate about direct patient care, medical education and research because she believes each patient’s well-being matters to the community.

Dr. Oni is the director of maternal and child health services for the Atrium Health Department of Family Medicine, and she is a core faculty physician. She received her medical degree at Boston University and completed a residency at the University of North Carolina.

Her research interests include birth equity, mood and anxiety disorders in pregnancy, inclusive breastfeeding services and women’s medical health education. She received a North Carolina Maternal Health Innovations Grant.

In her free time, she enjoys communing with loved ones over food, traveling the world, trying new cuisines and exploring underwater adventures while scuba diving.
