Biography

“The field of child abuse pediatrics is truly my passion and it’s my calling to serve this special and vulnerable patient population. Making the right diagnoses when treating infants and children, while partnering with community agencies, helps keep children safe.”

Dr. Morgan is board certified in pediatrics and specializes in child abuse pediatrics. She has a special interest in child physical and sexual abuse and prevention, child neglect, diversity, equity and inclusion and implicit bias. She is involved in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) research and child abuse research.

She is the medical director at Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital Child Protection Team, Levine Children's Pediatric Resource Center at Pat's Place, and Levine Children's Pediatric Resource Center Union at Tree House Child Advocacy Center. She was the recipient of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Office Community Leader Citizen Award in 2017.

The women in Dr. Morgan’s family have always had an interest in caring for children. Her mother offered in-home childcare services and her maternal aunts and grandmother were all educators. Through pediatrics, she felt she could educate children and families through wellness and preventive care.

She received her medical degree and completed her residency at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey (formerly the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – New Jersey Medical School).

Dr. Morgan and her husband have 2 children in college. She enjoys dancing, going to the movies, reading and traveling.
