“I love science and I love interacting with people. After many years in practice, I’ve come to know my patients very well.”

Dr. Boesel specializes in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN). He has served as director of Atrium Health’s Greater Carolinas Women's Center for over 20 years. He holds a special interest in treating urinary incontinence and performing procedures for gynecological conditions like fibroids or endometriosis. He also has extensive experience using a procedure called hysteroscopy to be able to look inside the uterus and help diagnose causes of unexpected bleeding.

Dr. Boesel has always loved both people and science. When he started working with lasers to do minimally invasive surgery in medical school, he became fascinated with using technology to improve healthcare for women. He has always been an early adopter of medical advances, such as a robot that makes surgery less invasive and more precise.

He received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University, followed by a residency at the University of Florida.

Outside of work, Dr. Boesel travels with his spouse to pursue fly fishing and videography. He loves the outdoors, and when he is not traveling, fishing or quail hunting, he can be found on the tennis court.
