Michelle Gay MAEd, CST, FAST
Program Chair and Instructor

Ms. Gay is a graduate of East Carolina University with a Master of Arts in Adult Education with a certificate in Adult Healthcare Education. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in the Health Services Leadership and Management and her Associate of Science in Surgical Technology (ST) degree from Cabarrus College, summa cum laude. Since graduation she has been using her knowledge and education in many settings such as the local hospitals and educational opportunities with Cabarrus College and higher education. Seeking to share her passion for Surgical Technology, she embraces each opportunity to encourage students to grow and prosper in their healthcare profession. She has current certification in surgical technology by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting. Ms. Gay also is a Board of Director for the Association of Surgical Technologist.

Ms. Gay loves spending her extra time with her family and friends, participating in event planning, reading, and enjoying outdoor activities.

Kristi Pair, BS,CST

Ms. Pair earned an Associate of Science in Surgical Technology (ST) degree from Cabarrus College and became a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST). She later graduated cum laude from Cabarrus College with a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Leadership and Management. In addition to her instructor position at the College, Ms. Pair works at CMC-NorthEast as a CST.

She enjoys spending her extra time with her family and friends, and also aspires to be a certified Spanish interpreter.

Michael Pryor, BS,CST
Clinical Instructor

Mr. Pryor received his Bachelor of Sciences degree in Recreation Administration from Delaware State University. In addition He enlisted into the United States Army, where he earned a Diploma in Surgical Technology in 1990.He also completed 28 of the required 36 credits towards a Masters of Administration, in Public Administration. He has 30 years experience as a Surgical Technologist, and is currently certified as a Surgical Technologist (CST), through the National Board of Surgical Technology.

Mr. Pryor is also a volunteer with the Blumenthal Theatre for Performing Arts, where he serves as an usher. For the past three years, he has performed in the Atrium’s Got Talent  show, where he once finished in third (3rd) place.

Mr. Pryor loves to sing, dance, and do voice overs.
