Ms. Richard has worked in the Financial Aid office at Cabarrus College since 1998. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Appalachian State University. Prior to working in financial aid, Valerie worked in mortgage banking.

She enjoys kayaking and hiking with her family.

Robin Robinson joined Cabarrus College as the Financial Specialist in 2003. With true Southern hospitality and passion, she helps students and parents navigate the challenging world of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA application.   

In her spare time, you can find her volunteering in her community, in her church, or just spending time with her “Favorites” – her family.

Robin looks forward to assisting you throughout the financial aid process and can’t wait for you to experience the excellence and tradition that is Cabarrus College.

Jennifer Russell
Loan Officer

Jennifer is a native of Concord and a UNC Charlotte Alumni. She has worked in the Insurance and Financial Industry for 20 years and strives for excellent service. When Jennifer is not working she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 children and traveling to the beach or mountains.

Malia Barrett
Manager of Business Operations

Malia joined Cabarrus College in February 2018 with over 10 years of accounting experience.  She graduated from UNC Charlotte in 2008 with a BS in Accounting.  Malia has been employed with Atrium Health since 2005 where she has held a variety of positions from patient experience to accounting for physician medical practices, real estate, and now Manager of Business Operations here at Cabarrus College. 

Malia is a native to the Concord area and resides here with her husband Bryan and cat Chloe.   During her free time, Malia enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and camping with her husband and cat, and photography.

Rhonda Hill

Staff Accountant

Rhonda Hill is the staff accountant for the college. She started with the college in April 2017. Rhonda was with the Union County Public Schools as a bookkeeper and payroll specialist 10 years and Marvin Elementary and Western Union Elementary Schools for over 3 years. She has also been with the City of Monroe as an HR Analyst I. Her experience includes accounts receivables, accounts payables, ordering, payroll, and budget management. She also works a part-time job as a bookkeeper/accounting specialist for Erwen Management, a company that owns seven Subway restaurants.

Rhonda lives in Monroe with her husband Jim and three children, including Emily Hill who is a 2016 graduate of the surgical technology program.   When Rhonda is not working with numbers, she enjoys time with her family, church family and loves to sing.
