Carmen I. Teague, MD

Physician

“I love people. I love serving people. I love helping people. I get up every morning excited to come to work to see what opportunities I may have to bring hope and healing to patients and their families.”

Dr. Teague is an internal medicine doctor with a special interest in women’s health, diabetes, high blood pressure and preventive medicine. She is board certified in internal medicine.

Dr. Teague felt called to become a doctor after falling in love with medicine while working as a counselor in a state hospital for the criminally insane. She loves the way internal medicine allows her to put together many pieces of data to figure out what’s happening and how to promote healing.

She received her medical degree in internal medicine from the University of North Carolina and completed her residency at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center.

In her free time, Dr. Teague loves to spend time with her husband, who is her high school sweetheart, and their 4 children. She is a triathlete, an avid waterskier, a CrossFit fanatic and a dedicated volunteer at her church and her children’s schools. Dr. Teague is also the author of “Motherhood, Medicine & Mayhem: A Doctor’s Journey of Finding Calm in Chaos.” She blogs at carmen-teague.com.
