All kids deserve the best. Once again, they can find it at Levine Children’s Hospital.
LCH has been named a Best Children’s Hospital by U.S. News & World Report in multiple specialties for the ninth year in a row. This year, LCH has been ranked in six specialties:
- Cancer
- Cardiology & Heart Surgery
- Gastroenterology & GI Surgery
- Nephrology
- Neurology & Neurosurgery
- Orthopedics
No other children’s hospital in the region has earned such broad recognition – which makes our community’s kids winners too. “These awards show children and families that they don’t have to leave Charlotte to get the very best in high-quality specialty care,” says Stacy Nicholson, MD, MPH, president, Atrium Health Levine Children’s. “And while awards prove our commitment, our top priority is improving the health and lives of children.”
Children come from all over the country to see specialists from LCH because “we can make a profound difference in the quality of their lives,” says Callie Dobbins, RN, MSN, NEA-BC, facility executive at LCH.
“The most important job we have is giving kids their childhoods back so they’ll have a healthy future,” says Dobbins.
Putting the “care” in specialty care
The U.S. News & World Report rankings are based on several factors, including how successfully a hospital can improve patient health and treat complex diseases. From heart surgeries to bone marrow transplants to cutting-edge spinal techniques, LCH takes care of some of the most complicated cases, with outcomes that stand among the nation’s best.
“Groundbreaking medicines and new technologies allow us to extend children’s lives in ways we never thought possible,” says Dr. Nicholson. “But what really takes our care to the next level is the quality of our teams.”
Doctors, nurses, social workers, nutritionists and child life specialists – to name just a few of the many important roles at LCH – all come together to provide more than a diagnosis or therapy. “We offer the support and encouragement that a child needs to thrive not just at the hospital but long after they’ve returned home,” says Dobbins.
We’re for all kids, everywhere
With more than 30 subspecialties, LCH cares for more than just the most complex cases. In fact, LCH treats more pediatric patients per day than any other hospital in the Carolinas.
For exceptional care close to home, families can count on the expertise of the Atrium Health network of pediatricians, urgent care centers and specialty clinics – now all connected by the Levine Children’s name you trust.
“Everywhere our patients see one of our doctors, they can be confident their care is backed by the strength of one of the nation’s top children’s hospitals,” says Dr. Nicholson.
