Dr. Cunningham has been with Atrium Health since 2016 and joined Carolinas Simulation Center in 2020. He was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) in 2019. Dr. Cunningham is a simulation champion who recently contributed to the success of the pediatric trauma in-situ simulation program. Quality assurance and process improvement remain active foci of research for Dr. Cunningham. He serves on the Easter Association for the Surgery of Trauma (EAST) Quality, Patient Safety, and Outcomes Committee working to improve trauma care across the nation.
