Description

This class, taught by a certified childbirth educator, helps to prepare parents arrival of baby by providing education on:


  • Late pregnancy
  • What to expect in Labor and Delivery
  • Labor, including coping and comfort strategies including relaxation and breathing techniques, other pain management options
  • Delivery types
  • Physical and emotional changes for you and your baby
  • Warning signs and when to call your OB
  • Question and answer session
  • Brief information on other classes available for you
  • Basic newborn information
  • Abbreviated virtual maternity center tour as well as information about your hospital stay.


Please plan to schedule this class so that you will complete the class by your 34th-37th week of pregnancy if possible.


There will be class discussion, films on birth (both vaginal and cesarean section deliveries)

This monthly class is part of a series. Sessions 1 through 4 will be held on consecutive Saturdays starting 04/05 - 4/26/25.

Chevair Mustafa, BSN, RN, RNC-OB, C-ONQS, CCE

Chevair Mustafa is a dedicated healthcare leader with 15 years of experience spanning multiple specialties in both clinical and hospital settings. As the manager of Women's Services and a Certified Childbirth Educator, she specializes in Women's Health, focusing on Labor & Delivery, Coping Mechanisms, and Postpartum Care. A proud graduate of Austin Peay State University, she holds a BSN along with various related certifications, and she is set to earn her master's degree in Health Administration in June 2025. Driven by her passion for addressing maternal health disparities, Chevair is committed to fostering relationships and advocating for women's well-being to create stronger, healthier communities. Since joining AHNB in April 2023, she has actively engaged in community organizations and initiatives that advance integrated care solutions, ensuring the voices and diverse needs of pregnant individuals—particularly those in rural and underserved areas of Georgia—are recognized and supported. Beyond her professional endeavors, she has been happily married for 21 years and is the proud mother of five children, recently embracing the joyful role of Ci-Ci to her first grandchild.

Kasna Williams-Neal, MSN, CNM, RN

Kasna Williams-Neal, MSN, CNM,RN, is a dedicated healthcare professional who has been serving as a nurse since 2006, with 15 years of experience in Mother-Baby and Women's Services. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Valdosta State University in 2005, later advancing her education at Frontier Nursing University, where she obtained her Master of Science in Nursing in Clinical Nurse Midwifery in 2022. Beyond her professional achievements, Kasna is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She enjoys traveling and reading, and she cherishes her role as a wife and mother to two daughters.
