Description

Talking to children about cancer can be hard. Many parents and caregivers worry about what to say and how much to share. This session is designed to help you feel more confident and supported when talking with children and teens about cancer.

You will learn how kids of different ages understand illness and cancer, common feelings and behaviors you might notice, and simple ways to answer tough questions. The session will also share tips for having open conversations, helping children cope with their emotions, keeping daily routines, and knowing when to ask for extra help.

Brought to you by the Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Program and the Department of Supportive Oncology, this session is a collaboration between Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute and Cancer Support Community. Together, we are bringing medical and emotional support to help families talk about cancer with honesty, care, and compassion.
