Biography
“I am a strong advocate of supportive care for cancer patients. Following internal medicine residency and practicing as an internist for a few years, I realized supportive treatments are very much needed in all types of specialties, but oncology is perhaps the single most important specialty with the inevitable need for supportive treatments due to the chronic nature of most cancers.”
Dr. Wahab is board certified in internal medicine and specializes in supportive oncology. He is a fellow at Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute.
He has conducted research on health disparities.
Dr. Wahab received his medical degree at the University of Health Sciences Lahore and completed residency at McLaren Flint/Michigan State University, where he was awarded an Academic Excellence Achievement Award. He also holds a master’s degree in public health and epidemiology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Outside of work, Dr. Wahab enjoys spending time with his son. He likes to read fiction and motivational self-help books, which he feels provide deeper meaning to his sense of being.
