Dr. Sonnefeld is board certified in neurology and clinical neurophysiology. He specializes in stroke, seizure and epilepsy medicine for adults in hospital settings.
Dr. Sonnefeld is the stroke medical director at Atrium University City and assistant specialty medical director for Inpatient Neurology at Atrium Health.
The challenges of neuroscience have always fascinated him and he brings his dedication to patient care.
Dr. Sonnefeld received his medical degree at West Virginia University, where he also completed a residency and a fellowship.
He is married with 3 children and enjoys spending family time near the ocean.
