Thompson is a board-certified neonatal nurse practitioner. She specializes in sick and well newborns, high-risk deliveries and preterm infants. She is the chief neonatal nurse practitioner at Atrium Health Levine Children’s Urgent Care.
She was originally drawn to labor and delivery as a new nurse taking care of high-risk pregnant women. This led to a curiosity about the newborns that required neonatal intensive care. She fell in love with caring for these tiny newborns and enjoys watching their families bond.
She received her master’s degree in nursing at the State University of New York.
Outside of work, she loves to spend time with her husband and twin daughters, traveling or just having tea around the breakfast table.
