Biography
“I love taking care of newborns and infants. Seeing babies through challenging hospital courses and getting them home with their families is so gratifying. I am passionately committed to patient safety and quality.”
Dr. Pallotto is board certified in neonatal-perinatal medicine (neonatology). Her clinical interests include prematurity and the treatment of newborns with birth differences such as gastroschisis (a birth defect of the belly) and congenital diaphragmatic hernia (a hole in the diaphragm). She also has a clinical interest in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), a technique of providing cardiac and respiratory support to newborns. She is the division chief of neonatology at Atrium Health's Levine Children's Hospital.
Dr. Pallotto is a founding member of The Children's Hospitals Neonatal Consortium (CHNC), with a mission to improve care and outcomes for infants cared for in quaternary neonatal intensive care units. The CHNC has become the largest clinical data repository in the world for infants with uncommon neonatal diseases. She is co-chair of the CHNC Collaborative Initiatives for Quality Improvement. Dr. Pallotto has been named a Top Doctor by Kansas City magazine.
She received a master’s degree in clinical epidemiology at the University of Pennsylvania and received her medical degree at Northwestern University. Dr. Pallotto completed residency at Northwestern University and her fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, University of Pennsylvania.
When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Terry, and their 3 children. Her hobbies include baking, hiking and traveling, especially to the beach.
