Girma Tesfaye Beyene, MD

Dr. Girma Beyene is board certified in internal medicine. He focuses on inpatient care for patients with severe acute illnesses and complications of chronic diseases.

He was drawn to the breadth and complexity of this field and finds satisfaction from treating acute illnesses, especially when there are opportunities to see outcomes in real time.

He received his medical degree at Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia, where he was awarded the Chancellor’s Gold Medal as valedictorian of his graduating class. He was also named the Ethiopian Medical Association’s best medical student of the year. Dr. Beyene received his master’s degree in public health (MPH) at Johns Hopkins University and was a nominee for the Delta Omega Public Health Honor Society. He completed residency in internal medicine at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center and Mount Sinai Medical Center.

In his time away from work, he enjoys attending his sons’ after-school activities, watching soccer on TV and following global news.
