Dr. Clarke-Pounder was raised in Charleston, SC. She completed an undergraduate degree in biology at the College of Charleston then medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina. She went on to complete her Pediatrics residency and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, MD. She focused her fellowship research on family communication in the NICU. She moved back down south after fellowship and began practicing Neonatology at Levine Children's Hospital in 2013. She enjoys caring for infants and their families in the NICU and helping families navigate their NICU experience.
