Biography
“Children are amazing and resilient and can lift your spirits even when they are going through difficult times. It’s a privilege to care for them and their families.”
Dr. Buckley is board certified in general pediatrics, pediatric infectious diseases and pediatric hematology-oncology (cancer and blood disorders).
He originally planned to specialize only in pediatric infectious diseases but loved the relationships he developed with his hematology-oncology patients during residency. Many of these patients were at risk of infections due to compromised immune systems. He felt it would be beneficial to manage their underlying hematologic and oncologic problems in addition to managing their complex infections.
Dr. Buckley received his medical degree at Wake Forest University.
In his spare time, he is passionate about music and plays the trombone, bagpipes and piano. He also takes weekly violin lessons and enjoys playing classical music, old-time fiddle music and Irish fiddle music. Dr. Buckley loves the outdoors and spending time in the mountains and at the beach.
