Children are amazing and resilient, and they can lift your spirits even when they’re going through difficult times. It’s a privilege to care for children and their families.

I’m board certified in general pediatrics, pediatric infectious diseases and pediatric hematology-oncology (blood disorders and cancer).

I originally planned to specialize only in pediatric infectious diseases, but I loved the relationships I developed with my hematology-oncology patients during residency. Many of these patients were at risk of infections due to compromised immune systems. I felt it would be beneficial to manage their underlying hematologic and oncologic problems in addition to managing their complex infections.

I received my medical degree at Wake Forest University.

In my spare time, I’m passionate about music and play the trombone, bagpipes and piano. I also take weekly violin lessons and enjoy playing classical music, old-time fiddle music and Irish fiddle music. I love the outdoors and spending time in the mountains and at the beach.
