“It is amazing to witness the resiliency of a newborn infant, whether full-term or premature. I always say they are much stronger than adults!”
Cook is a board-certified neonatal nurse practitioner. She is the chief advanced care provider in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Atrium Health Cabarrus.
She loves to help sick and premature infants thrive and then celebrate as parents take their infants home, often after many weeks or months in the NICU.
Growing up, Cook was inspired while watching the expertise and compassion of nurses as they cared for others. She fell in love with neonatal intensive care during her internship out of nursing school.
Cook enjoys spending time with her family. Camping and hiking are two of her favorite outdoor activities, and she recently started crocheting.
