Dr. Chitnavis is board certified in internal medicine with a subspecialty in gastroenterology.
She has clinical interests in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and colon cancer screenings. Dr. Chitnavis has been involved in clinical trials for IBD and IBD outcomes research.
She chose gastroenterology because she was drawn to the wide range of pathologies and organs involved in the GI tract, as well as the opportunity to combine procedural skills with a clinical practice. As an IBD specialist, she enjoys having long-term relationships with patients, helping them progress to remission.
Dr. Chitnavis received her medical degree at the Medical College of Virginia and completed residency in internal medicine at Vanderbilt University. She completed a fellowship at the University of Virginia.
When she’s not working, she loves hiking, going to the beach, traveling, painting and cooking vegan food.
