“Psychiatry interests me more than any other line of work. The mind is our sense-making apparatus, and it influences one's experience from moment to moment. Learning to handle the mind well seems essential to having a better life. Psychiatry is an evolving field, and keeping up with it keeps me on my toes.”
Dr. Namratha Boda is board certified in general psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry.
Dr. Boda feels her specialty chose her. Psychiatry is at once intimate, analytical, scientific and humane. She finds that very powerful.
Dr. Boda received her medical degree at Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education and Research, formerly known as Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College, in Kolar, India. She completed residency and a fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, New York.
She is an avid reader and enjoys exploring works on Buddhism, the application of eastern meditation practices in a western context, integrative psychiatry and psychoneuroimmunology (using psychology to help treat diseases). Dr. Boda also likes to hike, bike, swim, weight train, do yoga and meditate.
