Biography
“My professional life has been such a blessing. I’m honored to care for my patients. I love the children we treat, as well as their parents and families. I feel fortunate to be part of a team that helps our patients overcome complex problems and become more independent, better-functioning children and adults.”
Dr. Waters is board certified in orthopedic surgery with a specialty in pediatric hand and upper limb surgery. He has a clinical interest in treating brachial plexus birth injuries and surgical reconstruction, including nerve and thumb surgery. Additionally, he has a special interest in treating Madelung’s disease, post-traumatic bone and joint deformities, congenital pseudarthrosis and Sprengel’s deformity.
He has been recognized repeatedly as a Best Doctor by both Boston Magazine and America's Best Doctors. The Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America has recognized him with several honors, including the Robert Salter Award and induction into the society’s hall of fame. They also awarded him Best Clinical Paper for his published work on brachial plexus nerve surgery outcomes.
He has been honored as the John E. Hall Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery from Harvard Medical School. He is also an emeritus orthopedic surgeon in chief at Boston Children’s Hospital.
He received his medical degree at Tufts University and completed his residency at Harvard University.
