Biography

“I strive to be an advocate for children because they cannot speak for themselves. Health is about much more than just physical ailments. I consider all the factors that could affect a child's health, treat each child as an individual and pay attention to each family's unique situation.”

Dr. Peyton Bluhm is a pediatrician who focuses on the care of newborn babies.

Her love of children drew her to practice pediatrics. She chose to specialize in the care of newborns to help babies have the happiest and healthiest possible start in the world.

Dr. Bluhm has received the Valya Visser Award for the Humanities in Pediatric Medicine and a Gold Touchstone Award, both from Atrium Health. She has worked on projects to combat food insecurity in the Charlotte community and is active in the advocacy section of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

She received her bachelor’s degree in neuroscience at The University of Texas and her medical degree at Texas Tech University. She completed residency in pediatric medicine at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center.

Away from work, she loves running, hiking, biking and working in the yard with her husband and 2 dogs. Dr. Bluhm enjoys trying new restaurants in the Charlotte area and visiting family back in Texas.
