Hicks is a board-certified acute care nurse practitioner who specializes in critical care medicine. She is the chief advanced practice provider (APP) at Atrium Health Pulmonary Critical Care.
Hicks chose her specialty because it allows her to work with a multi-professional team while keeping her engaged and growing as a provider. She feels that the rapid evolvement of medicine and critical care requires practitioners to continually learn and adapt to provide the highest level of care which optimizes outcomes.
She received her nurse practitioner training at the University of South Carolina.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, enjoying the outdoors and good food.
