Biography

Dr. Mittal is board certified in general pediatrics and specializes in developmental-behavioral pediatrics. She has a clinical interest in the evaluation of neurodiversity, including ADHD, disruptive behavior, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental delays, learning difficulties and academic underachievement.
Dr. Mittal holds several national leadership positions through the Society of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics and is the current co-chair of the Diversity and Equity Committee of the Section of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). She has presented nationally on racial and ethnic identity in children (not adults) and co-authored a recent AAP chapter on the intersectionality of race and developmental disabilities.
Dr. Mittal has conducted research published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) on the use of medication in preschool-age children with ADHD. She also studied the use of telehealth in developmental-behavioral pediatrics as part of a national policy statement released by the Journal of Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics.
She received her medical degree at Windsor University School of Medicine. She completed residency at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital and a fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP).
When she’s not working, Dr. Mittal loves spending time with her husband, their 2 children and their miniature schnauzer, Russell. She enjoys being active, hiking, watching NBA basketball and traveling.
