Biography

“I do my job to make a difference. Whether I am caring for a normal, healthy newborn or a critically ill newborn, my goal is always to show compassion, go the extra mile for the baby and family and do my best to make things better.”

Dr. Mitchell is board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric neonatal medicine. He specializes in treating critically ill newborns.

He received his degree in osteopathic medicine at Kansas City University, completed a residency at the University of Mississippi and a fellowship at Duke University.

Dr. Mitchell has always been interested in reading and studying about the human body. He was intrigued by normal newborn growth, development and childhood illnesses. He became a pediatrician and neonatologist because it allows him to practice medicine in a hospital setting and provide care for critically ill newborns.

In his spare time, he loves working in his yard, especially when the flowers are in full bloom. He loves traveling to the Caribbean, trying new restaurants and spending time in the mountains with his significant other. He also enjoys taking long walks in his neighborhood to experience the beauty of nature.
