“I offer an empathetic, culturally competent and nonjudgmental approach. I utilize person-centered, strength-based and solution-focused methods. I believe in treating everyone with empathy and respect.”

Smith is a licensed clinical social worker who focuses on children, adolescents and families. She treats attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, conduct disorders, adjustment disorders, parent-child conflicts and other stress-related conditions.

She has a passion for public service and working collaboratively with clients to identify strengths, overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. She believes in the perspective of noted psychologist Carl Rogers, who stated, “The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.”

Smith received her master’s degree in social work at Johnson C. Smith University.

Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, spending time in nature, reading, exercising, painting, cooking and journaling. She is active in service activities to benefit the community.
